Prickly pears, also known as "Figues de Moro" in Mallorca, are the fruits of the prickly pear cactus (Opuntia ficus-indica), which is commonly found on the island. The cacti enchant every garden. They have fleshy, prickly leaves and brightly colored fruits that can range from yellow to dark red. The harvest season is from the end of July to the beginning of September.
