This is an authentic work of religious folk art from around 1870/1880 (approx. 150 years old). The motif shows Saint Joseph holding the Christ Child with the lily as an attribute of purity.

• Technique: Oil painting with fine, detailed brushwork directly on a solid wood panel (not canvas, not a print!).
• Framing: The painting is housed in the original, contemporary, and precisely fitting wooden frame from the period.
• Dimensions: approx. 62 cm x 55 cm (including frame).
• Condition: The picture has a beautiful, authentic age patina with fine craquelure in the paint layer. In the lower left corner there is an age-typical, historically developed stress crack in the wood, which is due to its age (see detail photos). The paint layer is otherwise stable and the main motif (the faces) is excellently preserved.
